Fine Motor & Handwriting

So much of a child's day depends on fine motor skills, the small, precise hand movements behind holding a pencil, using scissors, doing up buttons and managing lunch. When these skills are tricky, school tasks can feel frustrating and tiring.

• An awkward or tiring pencil grip and messy handwriting
• Difficulty with scissors, drawing or construction toys
• Avoiding colouring, writing or craft activities
• Trouble with buttons, zips, shoelaces and lunch packaging
